Does the hotel need to be told, or am I supposed to say something at reception?

Accepted Answer

Nothing is asked of you. She comes up to the room the way any visitor does and does not stop at the desk on the way. Every building has its own house rules and we would not speak for any of them, but there is nothing in the booking that requires you to explain it to anybody. If you would rather she waited downstairs until you call, say so when you book and that is how it will run.

Question 2

How is she dressed coming through the lobby, and what is she carrying?

Accepted Answer

For the building and the weather rather than for the appointment — a coat, ordinary clothes, flat shoes. One small bag with nothing printed on it, the size of the bag anyone carries into a hotel at that hour. The warm oils and fresh towels are inside it, and nothing about it reads as anything in particular.

Question 3

Is reception likely to stop her or ask who she is visiting?

Accepted Answer

We would be wary of anyone who made a promise about what a front desk will do, so we will not make one either. What we can tell you is that she arrives knowing the floor and the room number, goes to the lift and speaks to nobody on the way. Give us the room number when you book and there is nothing left for her to ask at the desk.

Question 4

The lift here only works with a keycard. How is that handled?

Accepted Answer

Common in aparthotels and the newer buildings, and simple enough to plan for. Tell us when you book and we will message you as she reaches the building, so you can either come down for the half minute it takes or meet her at the lift. It is worth settling in advance rather than working it out while she is standing in the lobby.

Question 5

I am in a serviced apartment rather than a hotel. Does that change anything?

Accepted Answer

Not for us, and not for the rate. The only practical difference is that apartment buildings tend to have a street door with a code or an intercom instead of a desk with someone behind it. Tell us which it is — code, intercom, or you meeting her at the door — and it is agreed before she leaves rather than debated on the pavement.

Question 6

It is quite a small room. Is there enough space to do this properly?

Accepted Answer

Almost always. Most of the work happens on the bed, and where a table is wanted she brings one that stands in about the space a suitcase takes. If you are booking two therapists, tell us the room type and we will say plainly whether it will be comfortable or whether a larger room is worth asking about first.

Question 7

I am sharing the room with a colleague. Is there a way around that?

Accepted Answer

The honest answer is that this needs a room to itself, and the way around it is timing rather than anything clever. We run twenty-four hours, so an hour in the afternoon or late at night works exactly as well as the evening does. Tell us the window when the room is yours alone and we will work to it.

Question 8

Will there be anything for housekeeping to notice the next morning?

Accepted Answer

No. The oils, the towels, the sheeting and anything else that came up leaves in the bag it arrived in, and the bed is remade before she goes. The room is handed back in the state it was found. Nothing goes into the bin and nothing is left for the hotel to deal with.

Question 9

I land late and want it arranged before I get to the hotel. Can that be set up in advance?

Accepted Answer

That is how a good many of these are booked. Message the WhatsApp button with the area, the hour and how long you want, and confirmation comes back in about ten minutes with the therapist named and an arrival window agreed. Once you are in the room it is twenty to thirty minutes anywhere in the centre, the same figure at three in the morning as at three in the afternoon. Schiphol airport hotels are by arrangement, so ask with the hour and you will get a straight answer. Telegram works the same way.

Question 10

I have a card and dollars on me but no euros in cash. Is that awkward?

Accepted Answer

Not in the slightest. Cash in any major currency, card, or crypto, settled on arrival. One hour €180, ninety minutes €270, two hours €360, three hours €540, an eight-hour overnight €1,250, and two therapists €360 an hour. Nothing is added for the hour of the night, the day of the week, or travel anywhere inside the ring, so the figure quoted on WhatsApp is the figure at the door.
