Why guests book an early morning massage
An early morning massage in Amsterdam is not a strange request here; it is a regular part of the day. The line that answers at two in the morning is still answering at six, and the therapists on the early roster start their shift expecting hotel guests who have been awake since four.
The reasons vary. A traveller from Asia or North America wakes before dawn with a body that believes it is afternoon. A delegate wants to walk into a conference hall loose rather than stiff. A guest on the last day of a trip has a noon checkout and wants the final morning in the room to be calm. Whatever the reason, the booking is identical to an evening one: a message, a name in about ten minutes, and a knock forty to sixty minutes after that. Our journal post on a hotel session before breakfast describes one of these mornings from the inside.
