Searching for a massage in Amsterdam now usually means one thing: you are in a room, the evening has opened up, and you would like the knock on the door to come soon rather than tomorrow. The honest timetable looks like this. Minute zero, you send a message. Around minute ten, the office replies with a therapist's name and a time. She is already dressed and packed, so she leaves almost at once, and she is at your door forty to sixty minutes after setting out, wherever you are in the centre. That makes the realistic answer to "now" somewhere between fifty minutes and a little over an hour from your first message. It is not five minutes, and nobody honest will promise five minutes, because a therapist has to cross the city. It is also not a vague "later this evening". The time in the confirmation is a real time, and it is kept.

The fastest confirmations come from messages that answer every question the coordinator would otherwise have to ask. Put four things in the first line: the area or street of your hotel, the length you want, the format if you already know it, and the word now. A message such as "Oud-Zuid, ninety minutes, sensual, as soon as possible" can be answered almost immediately. Leave the room number out for the moment. It is asked for once she is on her way. If your hotel lifts only move with a key card, mention it, because she will then write to you from the lobby. There is no premium for asking at short notice and no extra charge at night.

The fifty or so minutes between confirmation and the knock are more useful than they seem. Take a shower first, so the session starts relaxed rather than rushed. Turn the room temperature up by a couple of degrees, because a room that feels comfortable dressed feels cool undressed. Choose one lamp and switch the ceiling light off. Put the do-not-disturb sign on the door, and keep your phone within reach, since she will write when she is close. If you have had a busy day on your feet, drink a large glass of water. If you have just finished a heavy dinner, you may prefer to ask for a slightly later arrival, which the coordinator will happily arrange.

An immediate booking is charged exactly like one made a week ahead. For one guest with one therapist, one hour is 180 euros, ninety minutes 270 euros and two hours 360 euros.
