4-Hand Massage
Four hands is a single massage performed by two therapists working as a mirrored pair — the same stroke landing on both sides of you at the same moment, which the brain gives up trying to follow after a few minutes. It is the most choreographed thing we do and, less obviously, the one that takes the most arranging: two arrivals timed to the same minute, two bags, one room.
Where it comes from
Two practitioners working one body in synchrony is documented in Ayurvedic abhyanga, where a pair worked together and the value lay in the loss of a predictable pattern rather than in the extra hands. Western spa menus took the format up in the 1990s and renamed it four-hand, and the choreography tightened as it travelled — a lead and a mirror, the sequence agreed before the room is entered. The technique
The order of the work is settled between them before they start, because nothing in it can be renegotiated mid-stroke. What happens next is the reason people book it: two inputs arriving at the same instant on opposite sides cannot be tracked, so after a few minutes the brain stops trying, and that giving-up is the effect. Coverage runs double throughout, back and legs under hands at the same time rather than one after the other. The only asymmetry is deliberate, at the handover points where one pair of hands lifts and the other carries the line on.
What to expect
They come up together or a few minutes apart depending on the building and the hour, and neither of them will linger anywhere on the way. There is a short exchange between them about sequence, often in a language you will not follow, and then it runs almost silently with one leading and one matching. Coverage is doubled and effort halved: back and legs are worked at once rather than in turn. It finishes with the two of them moving down from shoulders to feet in step.

Guests with one night in the city who want the strongest version of the evening available, and anyone who has stopped getting much out of a single pair of hands.

Is €360 an hour each, or for both of them?
For both. Two hours is €720 and three is €1,080, with nothing added for travel inside the ring or for the hour of the night. An overnight with two therapists is on enquiry rather than carrying a published figure.
Do they arrive at the same time?
That is the intention, and in most buildings it happens. Where a lift or an entry system makes two simultaneous arrivals awkward they will come up a couple of minutes apart, and the work does not begin until both are in the room. Either way nothing is left waiting in a lobby.
Can any two therapists be paired, or does it have to be a set pair?
They are scheduled as a pair rather than as two separate bookings, because the timing only works between therapists used to each other. Tell us the hour and the length and the pairing is arranged at our end before you are given a confirmation.
