Lory dresses for the lobby rather than the room: a good coat, flat shoes, nothing that announces anything. From De Pijp she takes a new route most nights.

Her English is easy, though she is perfectly happy to let an evening go mostly wordless. A light, fluid way of working suits people who find deep pressure a chore rather than a relief. A long evening is where she is natural - dinner, a walk along the canal afterwards, the rest of it unmeasured - and she leaves a silence alone. Nothing she does in a corridor would give a stranger anything to remember.

Lory decides which bookings she takes and may decline any of them; she sets the limits for what a session includes, says what they are, and may end a visit at any point, as the terms set out.
