Friday evening is different in Amsterdam. Weekend visitors arrive by plane, train and car, business travellers extend their stay by a night, and the streets fill up from six o'clock. The booking line feels the same pattern. More guests want a massage tonight on a Friday than on any other evening, and they tend to want it at the same hours, between nine and midnight. A little planning makes a large difference.
Why a massage tonight on a Friday needs an earlier message
On a Tuesday, a message at ten usually produces a therapist within the normal forty to sixty minutes, often the one you asked for. On a Friday, the same message still produces a confirmation in about ten minutes, but the therapist you had in mind may already be booked, and the most popular start times fill first. The line does not run out of therapists, but choice narrows as the evening goes on.
The simple answer is to write earlier. A message at four or five in the afternoon, naming a start time such as half past nine, secures both the time and, usually, the woman you chose from the profiles. It is still a same-day booking.
Arriving on a Friday
Many Friday guests have only just arrived. They check in at seven, drop their bags and realise the evening is open. If that is you, write before you go out to dinner rather than after. Even a message sent from the restaurant table, for a start at ten, is far better than one sent at half past ten from the room.
If you are arriving late and know it in advance, book from the airport or the train. Give the area of your hotel and a start time an hour after your expected check-in, and adjust if needed.
What stays the same on a Friday
The arrival window stays forty to sixty minutes from the moment she sets out, anywhere in the centre. The prices stay the same: 180 euros for one hour, 270 for ninety minutes and 360 for two hours, for one guest with one therapist. There is no weekend premium. A couple sharing one therapist pays 360 euros for one hour, and a single guest with two therapists pays the same 360 euros.
Deposits on a Friday
An ordinary Friday is not a peak date, so the usual rules apply. A first booking with the house carries a deposit of half the fee, and so does any booking made more than 24 hours ahead, any session of three hours or more and any booking with two therapists. The deposit goes by card, Revolut, Wise or crypto after confirmation. A returning guest booking one or two hours for the same Friday evening pays everything in the room.
A Friday that falls during a large festival, a major conference or a holiday weekend is a different case: on peak dates every booking is confirmed with a deposit.
The Friday crowd at the hotel
Hotels are busy on Friday nights too. Lobbies stay full later, lifts are shared with guests coming back from dinner, and corridors are noisier until about midnight. None of this affects a booking, and a visitor walking to the lifts is even less noticeable than usual. If your room faces a busy street, close the windows and curtains fully, and consider playing soft music to cover the noise from outside. The tonight page covers the other practical details of an evening booking.
A later start is not a bad start
If you do write late on a Friday and the earliest time on offer is later than you hoped, consider accepting it rather than asking for someone further away. A start at half past eleven instead of ten, with the therapist you wanted, is usually a better evening than an immediate start with a compromise. Friday night in Amsterdam goes on late; the hotel room can too. And if the weekend is long, the Saturday and Sunday evenings are usually a little easier to book than the Friday, which is worth remembering for a second session.
