Paying for a hotel massage in Amsterdam happens in one or two parts, depending on the booking. Most bookings are split into a deposit, sent in advance, and a balance, paid to the therapist in your room. A small group of bookings are paid entirely in the room. None of it goes through the hotel. This guide explains each part, lists the accepted methods and walks through real examples, so the numbers in your confirmation make sense before you see them.
The two parts of a payment
The deposit is half the fee. It is sent after the office has accepted your booking and before the therapist sets out. Its purpose is simple: it confirms the reservation, and it secures time that the therapist has closed to other guests.
The balance is the other half. It is handed to the therapist when she arrives, usually in the first minutes, so that money is not on anyone's mind for the rest of the session.
When a booking has no deposit, the whole fee is the balance and is paid in the room in the same way.
Which bookings carry a deposit
A deposit of half the fee applies to:
- a guest's first booking with the house, whatever the length or hour;
- any booking made more than 24 hours before the session;
- any session of three hours or more;
- every overnight;
- every booking with two therapists;
- the companion formats, such as a dinner date;
- bookings to hotels by Schiphol airport;
- peak dates, including King's Day, ADE, Pride, Christmas, New Year and the large conference weeks.
Only one kind of booking is paid entirely on arrival: a same-day massage session of one or two hours, from a guest the house has looked after before.
Paying for a hotel massage deposit: the accepted methods
A deposit can be paid by card, through Revolut, through Wise or in crypto. The office sends the exact amount and the details inside the confirmed thread. Payment usually takes two or three minutes.
Three methods are not accepted for a deposit. Bank transfers take too long and are not used. PayPal is not accepted. Cash cannot be a deposit, because the deposit has to be in place before the therapist leaves for your hotel, and cash only arrives with her. Gift cards, vouchers and payment apps outside the four listed methods are never requested; a message asking for them did not come from the house.
Paying the balance in the room
The balance is paid directly to the therapist, in one of three ways.
- Cash. Euros are simplest. Other major currencies, such as US dollars, pounds sterling or Swiss francs, are accepted at the day's rate, so notes brought from home work too.
- Card. A card works for the balance. It creates an ordinary line on a statement, which is worth remembering if anyone else reads yours.
- Crypto. Mention it in the thread when booking, so the details are ready.
Have the balance ready before she knocks, in a wallet or pocket rather than on a table or the bed. Hand it to her directly. She will count it briefly and put it away, and that is the end of the money for the evening.
What does not happen
Nothing is charged to your hotel room. Nothing appears on your hotel bill or folio. The hotel does not collect, hold or pass on any payment, and it is not told anything about the booking. There is no travel fee inside the centre, no night supplement, no weekend premium and no charge for short notice. The figure in the confirmation is the figure you pay.
The figures, row by row
Two things decide the fee: whether one or two therapists come, and whether the booking is for a single guest or a couple.
- Single guest, one therapist: 180 euros for one hour, 270 for ninety minutes, 360 for two hours, 540 for three hours, 1,250 for the overnight.
- Couple, one therapist: 360, 540, 720, 1,080 and 2,500 euros for the same lengths.
- Single guest, two therapists: 360, 540, 720 and 1,080 euros, and 2,880 euros for the overnight.
- Couple, two therapists: 720, 1,080, 1,440 and 2,160 euros, and 5,760 euros for the overnight.
Each hour beyond three is charged at the same hourly rate as the row. The same table is printed on every therapist profile.
Worked examples
A first booking tonight. A guest who has never booked before asks for ninety minutes with one therapist, now. The fee is 270 euros. After confirmation, 135 euros is sent by card. When she arrives, the guest pays the other 135 euros in cash.
A returning guest, same day. The same guest, on a later trip, books two hours for that evening. The fee is 360 euros, and the whole 360 euros is paid in the room, because this is a same-day session of two hours from a guest the house knows.
Three hours, returning guest. The same returning guest books three hours instead. The fee is 540 euros, and because the session is three hours, 270 euros is sent in advance and 270 paid in the room.
A couple, two therapists, advance booking. A couple books two hours with a therapist each, three days ahead. The fee is 1,440 euros on the couple, two-therapist row. The deposit of 720 euros is sent in crypto, and 720 euros is paid on arrival.
An overnight. A single guest books an overnight with one therapist. The fee is 1,250 euros; 625 euros is sent in advance by Wise and 625 euros is paid in the room.
Cancellations, moves and early endings
A deposit is not refunded if a booking is cancelled, whatever the notice given. If a booking that had no deposit is cancelled, the house asks for the same sum a deposit would have been. In real cases of force majeure, such as a serious illness or a government ban, the deposit becomes credit for a later booking rather than cash.
One move is allowed per booking, asked for more than 24 hours before the booked time, to a date within fourteen days; the deposit carries over once. A second move, or a move inside the final 24 hours, counts as a cancellation.
If a guest decides to end a session early, the fee is not reduced. The full terms are on the cancellation policy page.
Mistakes guests make with money
A handful of small errors cause most of the confusion we see, and all of them are easy to avoid.
- Paying before confirmation. Nothing should be sent before the office accepts the booking. A guest who pays a request that arrived first, from anywhere, has paid someone else.
- Forgetting the balance. Guests who paid a deposit sometimes assume the booking is settled. The confirmation always states the balance separately, and it is due when she arrives.
- Relying on a cash machine at midnight. Some machines in the centre charge high fees or run out late at night. If you plan to pay in cash, withdraw it during the day.
- Using an unfamiliar crypto wallet in a hurry. If you are not used to sending crypto, choose a card for the deposit instead. A mistyped address cannot be reversed.
- Booking the wrong row. A couple who book as a single guest, or a guest who asks for a second therapist in the room after arrival, change the fee. Say who will be present in the first message.
Paying for a hotel massage as a couple
When two people share a booking, one of them usually handles both parts of the payment, and that is simplest for everyone. There is no need to split the deposit across two cards or to hand the balance over in two envelopes. The figure is the couple row for the length chosen, and the person who wrote the first message receives the confirmation and sends the deposit.
Receipts and records
The confirmation thread is the record of what was agreed: the length, the total, the deposit and the balance. Guests who want to keep it can simply leave the thread on their phone. Guests who prefer to keep nothing can archive or delete it after the stay. The house does not send invoices to hotels, employers or email addresses, and it does not keep a client file.
Tips
Tips are not part of the fee and are never expected. Guests who want to leave something extra do so in cash, directly to the therapist. The guide to tipping in Amsterdam explains local habits.
Keeping payments private
Guests who care about leaving as little trace as possible often send the deposit in crypto and pay the balance in cash. Guests who share a card statement with someone else avoid using that card at either stage. A company card should never be used. The discretion guide covers the other small details of a private booking.
