ADE Week Hotel Massage in Amsterdam: Between the Sets

Five days of club nights, panels and afterparties every October. How visitors fit an ADE week hotel massage between late nights and early conference panels.

Every October, Amsterdam Dance Event fills the city with electronic music fans, artists, promoters and label people. For five days there are conference panels in the daytime and club nights until dawn, spread over hundreds of venues. The visitors are young and old, tourists and professionals, and nearly all of them end the week more tired than they arrived. An ADE week hotel massage has become a regular request during those days, and it rewards a little planning.

An ADE week hotel massage is a peak-date booking

ADE counts as a peak date. The city's hotels are full, many visitors want similar hours, and every booking during the event is confirmed with a deposit of half the fee, whatever its length and whoever is booking. The deposit is paid after confirmation by card, Revolut, Wise or crypto. The balance is paid to the therapist in the room, in cash, by card or in crypto.

If you are planning your week in advance, remember that a deposit is not refunded if you cancel. One move to another date within fourteen days is possible when asked for more than 24 hours before the booked time, which is useful if a set time changes. The details are on the cancellation policy page.

The ADE day has an odd shape

An ordinary visitor's day runs from morning to night. An ADE day often runs from late morning to five or six the next morning, with a conference panel at noon, a nap at five in the afternoon and a club night that starts at midnight. The session times that fit follow that odd shape.

The two most common are the late afternoon, between four and seven, when guests are resting before the night, and the early morning, between six and nine, when they return from a club and want to sleep well rather than lie awake with ringing ears. Both hours are staffed exactly like the evening, and the early morning page explains how bookings before nine work.

Before the night: a restful session

A session in the late afternoon suits guests with a long night ahead. It should be restful rather than sleepy, so ninety minutes is usually better than two hours, and a slow oil-based format is a common choice. Eat something light afterwards and drink plenty of water. Guests often say the night that follows feels easier on the legs and back.

After the night: helping sleep come

A session at seven in the morning is a different experience. The body is tired but the mind is still fast, and sleep can be hard to find in a bright hotel room. One hour is often enough. Close the curtains completely before she arrives, drink a large glass of water and take a warm shower. When she leaves, the room is dark, quiet and ready for sleep.

Ask for a later start rather than an immediate one if you are still on the way back from the club. It is better for her to arrive twenty minutes after you than to wait in a lobby at dawn.

The figures during ADE

Prices do not rise for the event. One guest with one therapist pays 180 euros for one hour and 270 euros for ninety minutes, so the deposits are 90 and 135 euros. A single guest who would like two therapists pays 360 euros for the hour. Longer sessions and the overnight are on every therapist profile.

Industry visitors on a working week

Not everyone at ADE is there to dance. Many visitors are working: meetings in hotel lobbies, panels to speak on, artists to look after. Their days look more like a conference than a festival, with late nights added. For them, a session between the last meeting and the first club night is often the only real rest of the week, and one hour is usually all the schedule allows.

A week that asks a lot of the body

Five nights of dancing is a physical event, whatever else it is. Visitors who plan one or two quiet hours into the week, rather than hoping to recover on the flight home, tend to enjoy the last nights as much as the first. Write when your schedule is clear, give the area of your hotel and the times you are free, and the coordinator will do the rest.

If tonight is the night

One message with the hotel, the hour and the length is all it takes. The reply names the therapist and the time she will be at your door.
