Outcall to your hotel room

Ask a concierge where to find a massage and you will be pointed downstairs or down the street. Outcall reverses the direction of travel. The guest stays where he is, in his room with his shoes off, and the therapist makes the journey across the city to him. The house is built on that arrangement alone: it keeps no studio, no treatment room and no waiting area, so there is no address a guest could be given even if he asked for one.

For a traveller the appeal lies mostly in what does not happen. No taxi at midnight to a street he cannot pronounce, no buzzer on an unfamiliar door, no second journey back to the hotel when the evening is over. The room he checked into that afternoon is the entire venue, and the corridor outside it is the only shared space the evening touches.

Where outcall reaches

The roster of forty-five works across Amsterdam around the clock, seven days a week. Any central hotel, aparthotel, rented flat or private home falls inside the service, and once a booking is confirmed the same forty to sixty minutes applies to all of them. Schiphol and the hotels on the airport side are handled by arrangement, with some notice. Nothing past the city limits is served, so a room taken in a neighbouring town because the rate was lower is a room the house cannot visit.

What it asks of the guest

Very little, though not quite nothing: a correct room number when the office asks for it, a phone kept within reach while she is travelling, and a word in the thread if the building locks its lifts after dark. Because a therapist commits to the journey before she has met anyone, outcall is also the underlying reason most reservations here carry a deposit of half the fee.
