Deposit for a hotel room booking

Think of it as the hold a hotel places on a card at check-in, with one difference that matters: it is not released afterwards. The deposit is 50 percent of the ladder price, a fixed share rather than a range, and it is not negotiated. When the office accepts a reservation it writes the exact figure into the WhatsApp thread, and payment has to clear before the therapist leaves for the hotel.

Reservations that carry one

• Anything booked more than 24 hours before it starts.
• Every overnight.
• Every reservation for two therapists.
• Any companion booking, from the girlfriend experience and the dinner date to an evening event, or time as a social or travel companion.
• Every Schiphol or airport-hotel visit.
• Peak dates: King's Day, ADE and Pride, Christmas and New Year, and the weeks when big conferences fill the city's hotels.
• Every session of three hours or longer.
• The first reservation any new guest makes, at any length.

Exactly one kind of reservation skips the advance payment and is settled in full in the room. A guest who has booked with the house on an earlier occasion asks for a one- or two-hour massage for later that same day. That is an exception, and it stays narrow.

In figures

A EUR 1,250 overnight is confirmed with EUR 625. Three hours for one guest with a pair of therapists, EUR 1,080, needs EUR 540, and a night for a couple with a therapist each, EUR 5,760, needs EUR 2,880. A two-hour reservation made the day before, EUR 360, needs EUR 180. A new guest's single hour at EUR 180 needs EUR 90.

How it is sent

Card, Revolut, Wise or cryptocurrency: methods that clear electronically ahead of time. Bank transfer is not used for deposits, and cash cannot serve as one, because cash travels with the therapist and belongs to the balance. Where to send it is written only into the WhatsApp thread, and only once the office has accepted. Any request for money that arrives earlier, or from anyone else, is not from the office.

A deposit is not returned when a guest cancels, whatever the notice. It can follow a reservation to a new date once, when the move is requested more than twenty-four hours ahead and the date lands within fourteen days.
