Arrival days are strange. You wake in one country, spend the middle of the day in airports and taxis, and reach a hotel room in Amsterdam in the afternoon with a body that has been sitting for hours and a mind that has not quite arrived. The evening ahead is free, but the energy to use it well is often missing. A same day massage on arrival day is one of the simplest ways to fix that.
Planning a same day massage on arrival day
Most hotels in the centre let guests into their rooms at three. That timing matters, because it decides the shape of the afternoon. A guest who checks in at three can shower, unpack and rest for an hour, then send a message around four for a session starting at five or half past. A reply naming the therapist follows within roughly ten minutes, and her journey to a central hotel takes forty to sixty minutes from the moment she leaves.
A guest who arrives later, around six, has a different evening. The session is better placed at eight or nine, after a light dinner. Either way, the message can be sent from the taxi or the train once the arrival time is clear.
Why the first evening matters
The first night of a trip sets its tone. A traveller who spends it tired, stiff and awake until two often starts the second day badly. A traveller who spends it relaxed and falls asleep early starts the trip properly. A session on the first evening helps with both the body, stiff from the journey, and with sleep, which is often difficult in a new bed. The page on massage after a flight explains the physical side.
The first booking with the house
For many arrival-day guests, this is also their first booking with the house. That means a deposit of half the fee is sent after the office confirms, by card, Revolut, Wise or crypto, and the other half is paid to the therapist in the room. For ninety minutes with one therapist, the total is 270 euros, the deposit 135 euros.
Guests who book arrival-day sessions before they travel, more than 24 hours in advance, also pay a deposit, even if they have booked before. That is useful for guests who want an exact time and a particular therapist on the first evening, and the profiles are easy to browse on the plane.
Room before session
An arrival-day room is usually chaotic: an open suitcase, clothes on the chair, cables on the desk. Five minutes of tidying makes a real difference. Close the suitcase and put it against a wall. Clear the bed completely. Hang the travel clothes in the bathroom. Switch off the ceiling light, turn on one lamp and set the room a little warmer than feels necessary.
Eat something small if you have not eaten since the plane. A session on a completely empty stomach after a travel day can leave you lightheaded.
Which length works on day one
Arrival-day guests tend to choose ninety minutes, at 270 euros for one guest with one therapist. One hour, at 180 euros, is enough for a guest planning to go out afterwards. Two hours, at 360 euros, suits a long-haul traveller who knows the evening will end in bed anyway. Couples arriving together and sharing one therapist pay 540 euros for ninety minutes on the couple row.
If the flight is delayed
Travel days rarely go perfectly. If you have booked in advance and the flight is late, write to the thread as soon as you know the new arrival time. A later start the same evening is usually possible. If the delay becomes a cancellation and the trip itself is postponed, the cancellation policy explains the options: one move to another date within fourteen days is allowed when asked for more than 24 hours ahead, and genuine force majeure becomes credit.
A first night that feels like a holiday
Arrival day is usually lost to logistics. A session in the room on that first evening changes how the day is remembered. Instead of a long journey followed by a restless night, it becomes a long journey followed by a calm evening and a good sleep. On the second morning, the city feels less foreign, and the trip starts from a much better place.
